Well, well, well! - A Bizarre Landing
Well, well, well!

You wouldn't believe me if I told you, so I will let the pictures tell as much of the story as possible:

A Bizarre Landing

You wouldn't think this was a good place to land! You'd be right...

It's on the final aproach to the Merricks strip, and it isn't the only one. There are three of them in the immediate vacinity of that strip...

Not recommended as a landing site
Zagi Underground

I love a challenge, and so I deliberately landed my Zagi 3C right down inside!

And here is the proof of my piloting ability: A dim shot with the Zagi just visible, nose-down on a pile of garbage.

(You may think garbage is not desireable, but it beats water doesn't it?)

But how do we get it out again?

I had a good rope, and a good place to tie it to. What I didn't have was a volunteer! The guys in the club came over to see, and to congratulate my skill, but then they wandered off, chortling about something or the other.

Rope? Yes. Sherpa Tensing? No.
Zagi on its way back to the surface

Fortunately, a magician came along, and he was able to magically levitate the Zagi out of it's unique landing spot.

Thank goodness for the arcane arts!

Here is the smiling magician at work.

Look closely and you will see the magic wand and other magical paraphanalia used to return the Zagi to the light!

Secrets of the magician revealed

After recovery, I used a tissue to wipe away some really nasty mud, then bungeed the Zagi as usual. Up she went, flew beautifully as usual, and after three or four launches, it occurred to me that maybe I should check for dammage.....

Naaahhh!
